Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. One husband, one son, one daughter in law, two cats, multiple friends&family.
I have been an artist all my life. Doing art on a consistent basis has been the challenge. Welcome to my journey ...
My goal is to create art that makes people smile … at least a little. I hope that my artwork gives people a safe & happy place to set their gaze when life throws curve balls.
The seemingly simple things in life and the multitude of natural textures all around, catch my interest. Some of these inspirational glimpses include a blue sky interrupted by the starkness of a winter tree limb; a tiny brown beetle crawling along a sandy shore; birds sitting all in a row; street art; a chard of old pottery; peeling paint...
I welcome teaching and sharing with others. My students and fellow artists inspire and amaze me every time.
I have been exploring acrylics for the last few years. My hand designed stamps and stencils are also tweaked into my paintings somewhere. My tools could be large and small brushes, narrow and wide putty knives, chopsticks, sponges, twig, rags, and whatever else might make an interesting mark.
